WHO?

August and Imani are the two technical main characters of my oc project, SUNNY UNDERWRLD. They are both sloth demons, both two sides of the same coin, and are ex best friends with one of them in grave danger at this very moment!!! Can you guess who it is

August HATES Imani. Even as a demon of sloth, the mere thought of her former bff will send them into a wrathful silence as they simmer in their utter hatred. Imani doesn't absolutely loathe August, like August loathes her...she's more of just scared of him and for him. As time passes in the underworld, Imani feels more and more like something is wrong. A constant disturbance in their life, as if something in her past is just slowly emerging from its locked box. Their paranoia-ridden mind soon comes to the conclusion that its August, and that she might be an actual issue...but is it really?


Yes it is.

WHY THOUGH?

A very long time ago, around 300-400 years before the events of USEFUL VICTIM, Imani and August were the bestest of friends. They had met formally in elementary school, and had quickly decided they would be best friends forever, until the very end.

Neither August or Imani had supportive and truly secure home lives. Both dealt with severely untreated mental illness throughout their childhoods, their households only exacerbating their issues. August would be the first to crack under in the midst of this situation after a particularly severe incident, and to match, it was a pretty severe crack.

August and Imani's friendship wasn't all sunshine and rainbows as all friendships are, but these uncommunicated issues would only lead to the worst possible outcome. Imani had never really considered herself fit to bear the weight of both her issues and August's issues, and whenever August would reach out for any sort of help, Imani would turn a blind eye to their problems and even disregard them...neither of them could truly help the other with the families they were born into...but Imani would always expect help from August.

After the incident in August's household, he was never the same demon. August found himself falling into typical demon life, surrounding herself with death, destruction, blood and gore. They grew enthralled with the concept of death and harm to the body, expressing both suicidal and homicidal thoughts to the only one that would listen.

Imani's mind was already in tatters. She had already resigned herself to a life away from the bloodshed and depravity- it had destroyed her to watch as her best friend succumb to the bloodsoaked glory of the underworld. They couldn't do it anymore. Imani cuts August off on one particular day. They could no longer watch the slow decsent August was going through.

August hated it. They hated every second. All the times they destroyed their own mental health to build hers and Imani's back up again, and...she walks away from her. All because...she gave into what really mattered in Hell.

She progressed in life, and her hatred for Imani would only grow worse. In his alone time, he would indulge in methods of killing that would make even some of the oldest beings in the underworld clutch their chests, all and only to Imani. She dreams of tormenting her, making sure she feels every shard of every time she broke him down. Only to bring her back, and do it all over again. And again, and again, until the very end.

WHY DO YOU LOVE THEM?

They are my CREATURES they are my BABIES and I LOVE them and I will make them FIGHT in the LUCKY BLOCK ARENA

August and Imani are my most cherished ocs!!! They die with me. I love them so much because I simply adore the dynamic of a severely broken friendship in pretty much all cases- and when I made August (or rather their most recent design(the pink fuck)) I knew they had some sort of leashed hatred in them, despite their sloth demon status. So why not have a contradictory characted with just about damn near the exact opposite of them??? GODDDDD they mean so much to me AHHHHHHHH I HATE THEM AND THEY HAVE 5 MINUTES TO LIVE

I also love them because they are just so different, such polar opposites of each other in some aspects, but also so similar..they are actually fr 2 sides of the same coin!!! And I think that fact would truly disturb both of them. LOVE THAT

Speaking of...

YOU GUESSED IT A VARIED TRIVIA SECTION

design/character things in them that i think r interesting:

  • August and Imani share similar outfits and general fashion senses, as well as a bunny theme
  • Their horn colors are complimentary colors!! I specificlaly had it in mind that they would be swapped if you invert your screen colors
  • They both have wild, straying strands of hair- specifically did this to represent their similar states of mind
  • Their backstories are direct contrasts to eachother- August grew up in a household that shielded her from the true nature of the underworld and tried to get her to live a normal life, while Imani grew up in a household that encouraged it and tried to get Imani in on it early
  • Going off of the last one, they both get their wishes (somewhat)!! Imani shuts herself away from the world in fabor of the internet in a semi-normal life away from bloodshed, while August revels in it and DOUSES himself in it.

    • misc trivia:

  • The music in this page contains their voices!! August's is first, and Imani comes in second
  • Inconsistency is weaved into their characters!! Not only do August and Imani's earrings and pants string styles regulalrly change, but they both share the trait of impulsivity. Maybe one day they will meet due to their snared impulsivity, and we can see how that ends!!!!
  • Imani has a reoccuring nightmare of seeing August and their glowing pink eyes in the pitch black corner of her room. She calls and calls to him, but August only continues staring.
